Muthaiga Golf Club has announced the closure of part of its golf course following a dispute with the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) over access to a section of the facility.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 15, the club said KFS had taken over access to the Front Nine, affecting Holes No. 2 through No. 9.
The forest agency is claiming that the affected section of the golf course falls within Karura Forest, prompting a dispute over the management and access of the area.

Muthaiga Golf Club said its Board had taken up the matter and was working to resolve the dispute as urgently as possible.
The club advised members that Holes No. 2 through No. 9 would remain inaccessible until further notice as efforts to resolve the matter continued.
However, the club clarified that other facilities had not been affected by the dispute. The driving range and parking area remain accessible to members.
The club apologised to members for the disruption caused by the closure and appealed for their patience and cooperation as the Board works towards resolving the matter.
The dispute comes amid ongoing concerns over boundaries and management of land around Karura Forest, one of Nairobi’s key urban forest reserves.
