A Kenya Urban Road Authority (KURA) has announced the partial closure of the Outer Ring Road in Nairobi on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
In a statement on Wednesday, September 22, 2026, the authority said the road will be closed for three hours on that day, from 12 pm to 3 pm
According to KURA, the closure will allow contractors to remove a gantry, a large overhead structure usually used to support road signs, cameras, or other equipment.
“Motorists are informed of a partial closure of Outer Ring Road on Saturday,September 5r 2026, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, to facilitate removal of a gantry. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” KURA stated.
According to the authority, the structure will be removed specifically near the section connecting to Airport North Road.
KURA said Drivers using Outering Road will face traffic disruption following a scheduled temporary road closure.
According to a work sequence plan for the operation, the disruptions will last for the entire three hours, with full road closure lasting one hour between 1 pm and 2 pm.
