Jubilee Party has clarified the political context surrounding recent developments in Nairobi after a section of individuals announced their departure from the party.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 26, the party said the announcements should not be interpreted as evidence of a mass exodus of members or supporters.
Jubilee explained that some of those who announced their departure had already been suspended from the party several months ago over alleged misconduct and concerns about the management of party processes.

The party said it had received complaints alleging that some individuals attempted to solicit money from aspirants, conduct it described as contrary to Jubilee’s principles, values and leadership standards.
According to the party, the disciplinary action was taken to protect the integrity of its structures and internal democratic processes and was not intended as retaliation against the affected individuals.
Jubilee further argued that some of the reported defections merely formalised political positions that had been apparent for some time, with certain individuals having previously taken positions that differed from those of the party.
The party maintained that its electoral tickets represented the backing of a broader political movement and should not be viewed as vehicles for individual political ambitions.
It also cautioned against interpreting the departure of individual politicians as a wider rejection of Jubilee by its members or Nairobi voters.
Instead, the party said it would focus on rebuilding and strengthening its structures rather than engaging in political exchanges over the recent announcements.
Jubilee said the renewal process would involve reorganising its grassroots structures, strengthening its presence at ward, constituency and county levels, engaging members and identifying leaders committed to advancing the party’s agenda.
The party singled out Nairobi as a key focus of its renewal strategy, citing the city’s politically diverse and evolving electorate.
It said it would prioritise issues affecting residents, including the cost of transport, access to public services, accountability in county government and the dignity of Nairobi residents.
Jubilee also invited aspirants, professionals, community leaders, young people, women and entrepreneurs interested in participating in its political activities to join its renewal efforts.
