The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) rescued 48 women following a series of operations targeting suspected sexual exploitation and obscene content production syndicates in Kiserian and Ongata Rongai.
In a statement on Friday, July 24, the DCI said detectives launched the operations as part of an ongoing crackdown on criminal networks accused of exploiting young women through prostitution and the commercial production of explicit content.
During a raid in the Rimpa area of Ongata Rongai, officers stormed a house believed to have been used as a base for producing obscene online content.

Acting on information from members of the public, detectives found 30 women aged between 19 and 27 inside the premises.
A search of the house led to the recovery of seven laptops fitted with cameras and other equipment suspected to have been used in the production of explicit material.
The women were taken into custody at Ongata Rongai Police Station as investigations continue ahead of their planned arraignment.
In a separate operation in neighbouring Kiserian, detectives responded to intelligence indicating that young women had been lured with promises of domestic jobs, only to be forced into sexual exploitation and commercial prostitution.
The joint operation, conducted by officers from Kiserian and Rongai police stations, resulted in the rescue of 18 women, who have since been placed under police protection.
Detectives also recovered mobile phones, laptops and other items believed to have been used in facilitating the suspected offences.

The DCI highlighted that the prime suspect behind the Kiserian operation remains at large, with investigations ongoing to trace and arrest the individual.
Authorities added that arrangements were underway to provide the rescued women with safe accommodation, psychosocial counselling, medical care and other support services to aid their recovery and reintegration.
