The U.S. State Department has issued a worldwide security caution, warning that escalating tensions in the Middle East could increase the risk of attacks on U.S. diplomatic missions and interests abroad, putting countries such as Kenya on heightened alert.
“Worldwide Caution: Due to heightened tensions in the Middle East, the security environment remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation,” the U.S. Department of State noted.
The advisory came hours after a fresh round of U.S. strikes on Iran on Wednesday, July 22, with Washington warning that Iran and groups aligned with Tehran could target U.S. embassies, businesses and institutions worldwide.

The warning followed renewed threats from Iranian officials.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran would respond decisively to any attack on its infrastructure and warned that countries supporting such attacks could also become targets.
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf separately threatened to disrupt oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz if Iran’s own exports remained blocked.
Kenya, which maintains defence cooperation agreements with the United States and hosts key military facilities used by Washington, could face heightened security concerns as the regional conflict continues to escalate.
The latest warning comes as both the U.S. and Iran exchange fresh military strikes, raising fears of a wider regional conflict and disruptions to global oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.
