President William Ruto has emerged as the most popular presidential aspirant ahead of the 2027 General Election, according to the latest survey released by Infotrak Research and Consulting.
The poll, released on Monday, July 13, places Ruto at the top with a 32 percent popularity rating. Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka follows in second place with 13 percent.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Jubilee Deputy Party leader Fred Matiang’i are tied in third position, each attracting 12 percent support.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua ranks fifth with 4 percent, followed by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino at 3 percent. Former Chief Justice David Maraga received 2 percent, while People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua registered 1 percent.
The survey also found that 18 percent of respondents remain undecided on their preferred presidential candidate, while 3 percent declined to disclose their choice.
Regionally, Ruto enjoys his strongest support in North Eastern (59 percent), Rift Valley (46 percent) and Nyanza (40 percent).
Kalonzo’s biggest backing comes from the Eastern region, where he leads with 40 percent support.
The poll further shows that the Central region remains politically competitive, with no aspirant attracting more than 20 percent support. In Western Kenya, Ruto leads with 35 percent, followed by Sifuna at 25 percent.
On the question of a running mate, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki emerged as the preferred choice to deputise Ruto in 2027, receiving 34 percent support.
Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga followed with 11 percent, while ODM leader Oburu Oginga garnered 9 percent.
Former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho received 4 percent, ahead of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru with 3 percent. Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula each recorded 2 percent.
Within the opposition, Kalonzo was identified as the most preferred presidential candidate with 27 percent support, narrowly ahead of Matiang’i at 26 percent. Sifuna followed with 19 percent, while Gachagua received 9 percent.
The survey also found that a Kalonzo-Sifuna ticket is the most preferred opposition combination, attracting 23 percent support. A Kalonzo-Matiang’i ticket came second with 16 percent support.
