Linda Mwananchi on Thursday, July 9, accused the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of allegedly laying the groundwork for election fraud ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In a statement, the ODM-dissenting faction claimed there were plans to compromise the electoral process in favour of President William Ruto through the procurement of a new election management system.
The political outfit alleged that officials within the IEBC procurement department were being pressured to acquire a system that could be easily accessed and manipulated to influence the outcome of the 2027 polls.

However, it did not provide evidence to support the claims.
Despite the allegations, Linda Mwananchi maintained that President Ruto would not secure re-election and urged him to prepare for a peaceful transfer of power after the 2027 General Election.
The group also criticised the electoral commission over what it described as its silence on the alleged misuse of State resources and abuse of power during campaigns for the upcoming Ol-Kalou by-election.
According to the faction, the IEBC has failed to reassure Kenyans of its independence and ability to conduct credible elections, arguing that its inaction has raised concerns about the integrity of both the mini-poll and the 2027 General Election.
Linda Mwananchi further condemned the recent attack in Keumbu, saying traders at the local market continue to suffer economic losses due to fear and heightened political tensions following the incident.
The faction claimed that many residents have been avoiding the market since the attack and called on authorities to identify and prosecute those responsible.
At the same time, the group urged members of the public not to direct blame at the Keumbu market trader, popularly referred to as the “Mama Mboga,” saying she should not be held responsible for the violence.
It added that it plans to engage the market leadership and organize a peace caravan to promote reconciliation and restore normal business activities in the area.
