Taking to his social media in november the comedian confirmed the arrest.
“I have been arrested at JKIA just before I boarded a flight to Dar es Salaam. As a Brand Ambassador for Skyward, we were launching the INAUGURAL Dar es Salaam flight. Upon handing over my passport, the immigration officers informed me that there is a Stop Order and that I cannot travel and I have to be detained.” He noted.
This was not the first time the comedian has been arrested.
For example, in 2021 Eric was arrested after organizing a protest over the high cost of living in Kenya.
His demonstration, which he led alongside other activists, was aimed at highlighting issues related to the cost of food and basic commodities.
In 2020 was also arrested after he was involved in a stunt where he paraded around Nairobi in public wearing nothing but underwear.
In 2019, he was arrested for a video where he mocked President Uhuru Kenyatta and the government’s leadership, which was considered offensive by authorities.
Eric who doubles up as a comedian and an activist is among the vocal activists in Kenya and he is always for the interest of every Kenyan.
