Supporters of Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika and Kuresoi North MP Alfred Mutai clashed violently in Molo, Nakuru County, on Friday, June 19, leaving at least three people nursing gunshot wounds and several vehicles damaged.
The confrontation erupted at Imoja Secondary School, where Governor Kihika was presiding over a women and youth empowerment event.
Tension reportedly escalated shortly after MP Mutai arrived at the venue, with rival supporters engaging in a heated confrontation that quickly turned violent.

Witnesses said the groups began pelting each other with stones before gunshots rang out, forcing crowds to flee in panic.
Preliminary reports indicated that at least three people sustained gunshot injuries to their arms and legs during the chaos.
The injured were rushed to Molo Level 4 Hospital by members of the public, where they received treatment and were reported to be in stable condition.
The violence also resulted in extensive property damage.
Several vehicles parked near the venue, including those belonging to Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang, had their windows and windscreens shattered after they were hit with stones. A 33-seater bus was also set ablaze during the confrontation.
Despite the violence, the empowerment event proceeded as scheduled and was attended by UDA National Chairperson Cecily Mbarire, MP David Gikaria and Nyeri Woman Representative Rahab Mukami.
Following the incident, local leaders condemned the violence and urged security agencies to launch investigations into those responsible.
They warned that the clash highlighted increasing political intolerance and the growing use of organised groups to disrupt political gatherings.
