Ivy Namu Confirms Breakup With Willis Raburu After Five Years

Ivy Namu has announced that she and media personality Willis Raburu have ended their relationship after five years together.

In a statement shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, June 17, Namu revealed that the two had mutually agreed to part ways and appealed to the public to respect their privacy during the transition.

“Willis Raburu and I have decided to go our separate ways. Kindly respect our privacy at this moment,” she stated.

Raburu had not publicly commented on the separation by the time of publication.

The couple began dating in 2020 and share two children, a son and a daughter.

In July 2022, they got engaged during the celebration of their first child’s birthday after meeting a year earlier when Raburu invited Namu to appear on Citizen TV’s *10 over 10* entertainment show.

The breakup comes several years after Raburu’s divorce from his first wife, Marya Prude. Marya confirmed in April 2021 that the two had officially ended their marriage during a question-and-answer session with her Instagram followers.

Raburu has previously spoken publicly about the collapse of that marriage, attributing it to the emotional toll following the loss of their daughter in December 2019.

He disclosed that he initiated the divorce after realizing the relationship was no longer working.

The separation also comes at a time when Raburu is preparing to venture into elective politics.

In April, he joined the Linda Mwananchi movement and declared his intention to vie for the Kisumu Senate seat in the 2027 General Election.

Siaya Governor James Orengo welcomed the former news anchor to the movement, saying Raburu would bring youthful energy and media experience to the political outfit.
