Kisii School and Kakamega High School have been affected by separate fire incidents, raising fresh concerns over rising cases of school unrest across the country.

No injuries or fatalities were reported as school officials and emergency responders quickly contained the fire and prevented it from spreading to other parts of the school.

Preliminary indications suggest that tensions within the institution may have been escalating prior to the incident, although authorities have not yet established the exact cause.

Following consultations between the school administration, education officials, and security agencies, it was decided that the school be temporarily closed as investigations continue.

At Kakamega High School, a dormitory was destroyed after a fire broke out within the school compound.

Firefighters and emergency teams responded and managed to contain the blaze. Police have launched investigations to determine the cause of the fire.

Some student belongings were salvaged, and no injuries were reported as learners were in class at the time of the incident.

The incidents come amid a broader wave of unrest in schools, with several institutions recently sending students home due to rising tension and emotional distress among learners.

Authorities have since stepped up monitoring and investigations to address the situation and ensure safety in schools.
