U.S President Donald Trump has appointed Space X founder, Elon Musk a government job.
His role will be to co-lead with Former Republican presidential to a newly department of Government Efficiency.
Trump indicated that the new department would operate outside the confines of government.
Musk and Ramaswamy will pave way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures and restructure Federal Agencies.
Trump said in a statement.
He also stated that the new department will realize long-held Republican dreams and provide advice and guidance from outside the government.
Trump added that that their new role would not require Senate approval and would allow Elon Musk to remain the Chief Executive Officer of Company Tesla.
The Department of Government Efficiency will be known as Doge for short which according to Trump is a reference to the cryptocurrency Dogecoin which Musk has supported.
Both Co-leaders were Trump’s number one supporters during his campaign where Elon Musk donated $200 million.
Trump said that they have a deadline to conclude their work by US Independence Day on 4th July 2026.
People have no idea how much this will move the needle.
