Governor George Natembeya has announced the completion of the new Trans Nzoia County Assembly building, marking a major milestone in the county’s efforts to strengthen governance and improve institutional capacity.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, May 27, Natembeya noted that construction of the modern assembly facility began in April 2023 under his administration through the Department of Public Service Management (PSM).
The governor described the project as a significant achievement aimed at improving the working environment for Members of the County Assembly and enhancing the effectiveness of legislative, oversight, and representation functions within the county government.

According to Natembeya, the next phase of the project will involve equipping the building to ensure it is fully operational and provides a conducive environment for MCAs and assembly staff.
He further noted that the completion of the facility reflects his administration’s focus on prudent use of public resources, institutional development, and improved service delivery to residents of Trans Nzoia County.
The governor had previously raised concerns over inadequate office space within the county government, noting that several departments were operating from scattered locations, making it difficult for residents to access services efficiently.
At the groundbreaking ceremony held in April 2023, Natembeya explained that the fragmented arrangement of county offices had created inconvenience for members of the public who were forced to move from one office location to another in search of services.
The newly completed assembly complex is expected to help centralize operations and improve coordination within the county administration.
The state-of-the-art project is estimated to have cost the county government approximately KSh500 million.
