Octopizzo Sparks Debate on Whether Parliament Still Serves the Public

Henry Ohanga, popularly known as Octopizzo, has questioned whether Parliament still serves ordinary Kenyans as debate around the Finance Bill 2026 continues.

In a statement, he disclosed about the pressure many families and businesses are currently facing.

According to Octopizzo, many citizens are closely watching how leaders will handle the proposed bill.

Parliament resumes today, with the Finance Bill 2026 among the most critical items on the agenda,” he said.

Octopizzo disclosed that many Kenyans are hoping elected leaders will make decisions that protect citizens from more financial struggles.

He stated that the country has already experienced difficult economic moments in the past, adding that people do not want leaders to repeat mistakes that increase hardship.

“Millions of Kenyans are watching closely, hoping their elected leaders will stand with the people and not repeat the costly mistakes of the past,” the rapper added.

The veteran rapper also spoke about the challenges affecting households and businesses across the country.

According to him, leadership should focus on courage and independence during such moments and leaders should protect citizens from policies that may worsen the situation.

“At a time when families and businesses are under immense pressure, leadership must be measured by courage, independence, and a willingness to protect citizens from policies that deepen hardship,” the musician explained.

Octopizzo also raised concerns about the independence of Parliament saying that many Kenyans are beginning to question whether lawmakers are still acting freely or are becoming too close to executive interests.

He added that there are also concerns about bribery and outside influence.

Octopizzo further stated that democracy requires leaders who are bold and willing to defend citizens even when facing political pressure.

According to him, leadership should not only focus on political survival but also on protecting the interests of the people.

He explained that many citizens are now looking for fearless representation.

“Democracy demands bold, principled, and fearless leadership, leaders willing to defend the people even when it comes at a political cost,” Octopizzo said.
