UDA’s David Keter Wins Emurua Dikirr By-Election

David Keter of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has been declared the winner of the fiercely contested Emurua Dikirr by-election.

In a statement issued on Friday, May 15, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced that Keter secured 18,266 votes to clinch the seat.

Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) candidate Vincent Kibet Rotich finished second after garnering 10,760 votes.

According to the electoral agency, 29,538 votes were cast out of the 44,353 registered voters, translating to a voter turnout of 66.6 percent in the Narok County constituency.

Following the victory, the UDA Party congratulated David Keter, saying the outcome reflected the trust and confidence that residents of Emurua Dikirr have in his leadership.

The ruling party also thanked voters in the constituency for supporting the party and backing its development agenda during the by-election.

UDA further expressed confidence that Keter would effectively represent the people of Emurua Dikirr and spearhead development projects in the constituency.

The Emurua Dikirr parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of former area MP Johanna Ng’eno.

Ng’eno lost his life in a tragic plane crash in Mosop, Nandi County, alongside five other people.
