Suspect Arrested After Mtwapa Police Recovery Operation

The National Police Service has recently reported the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of assorted stolen property following an intelligence-led operation in Mtwapa Township, Kilifi South Sub-County.

According to the service, officers from Mtwapa Police Station carried out the operation yesterday after receiving credible intelligence on suspected criminal activity within the area. 

The targeted operation led to the arrest of one suspect believed to be involved in a series of theft incidents reported within the township and its environs.

During the search, police recovered a wide range of items suspected to have been stolen. 

The stolen items  included multiple gas cylinders, mobile phones, television sets, assorted electronic equipment, household appliances, jewellery, SIM cards, and other domestic goods. 

Authorities noted that the recovered items are believed to be linked to different victims within the locality, though investigations are ongoing to establish ownership and possible connections to reported burglary cases.

The suspect was taken into custody at Mtwapa Police Station, where he is being held pending further investigation and subsequent arraignment in court. 

Moreover, the recovered exhibits have been secured to support ongoing inquiries and potential prosecution.

The National Police Service commended members of the public for their cooperation, noting that community support continues to play a key role in combating crime. 

The service further urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or information that could assist in ongoing investigations, reinforcing efforts to enhance safety and security within Kilifi County.
