Sammy Ngotho will represent the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) in the upcoming Ol Kalou by-election after emerging victorious in the party nomination exercise conducted on Saturday.
Ngotho secured 12,957 votes to clinch the ticket, beating Paul Waiganjo, who finished second with 4,978 votes.
Following the outcome, DCP congratulated Ngotho on winning the primaries and wished him well as he prepares for the by-election race.

Ngotho previously vied for the Ol Kalou parliamentary seat in the 2022 General Election on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket, where he finished second.
Following his defeat in the 2022 General Election, Ngotho was later appointed as a protocol officer in the office of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In the upcoming by-election, he will face off with UDA candidate Samuel Muchina Nyagah, who clinched the party ticket during nominations conducted on Friday, May 8.
Muchina garnered 3,221 votes to edge out his closest challenger, George Wambugu Kanuri, who secured 3,077 votes.
Other aspirants in the race included Peter Njoroge Mugo, who received 1,049 votes, Mary Nyokabi Kamau with 406 votes, Peter Chuchu Njuguna with 158 votes, and Maina Kiambati, who garnered 96 votes.
Joseph Ndirangu received 90 votes, Ezekiah Kamweru got 66, Daniel Ndungu managed 52 votes, while Stanley Mwangi finished last with 43 votes.
The Ol Kalou parliamentary seat became vacant following the death of area MP David Njuguna Kiaraho.
Kiaraho died on Sunday, March 29, while receiving specialised treatment at The Nairobi Hospital in Nairobi.
