President William Ruto has engaged in a conversation with the United States secretary of state, Antony Blinken.
The conversation was held on Thursday, 8th November 2024 whose discussion was to find out the way forward on Multinational Security Support (MMS) mission to Hatiti led by Kenyan police officers.
The Head of State and US Secretary discussed the transition of the mission into a UN peacekeeping operation to enhance the capability of the mission to help stabilize Haiti.

Kenya and United States are continuously working together to enhance our collaboration to ensure improved governance. This includes the fight against corruption and provision of capacity building to make out security institutions more efficient, effective and accountable in the discharge of their mandate.
His Excellency said that he had discussed the pertinent issue stated above and agreed on how the two countries would work together.
The President added in his statement that Kenya was working closely with the United Nations to restore peace and security on the region.
After my visit to South Sudan and Ethiopia, I have had a discussion with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the situation in South Sudan, Sudan and Somalia. We are working on a post-African Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) to support our Neighbour on her journey to peace and stability.
