KeNHA Announces Traffic Changes Along Uhuru Highway A8 Corridor

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has confirmed that a section of the Uhuru Highway will be temporarily closed.

In a notice on Friday, May 8, 2026, KeNHA stated that a section of Uhuru Highway (A8 road) between Museum Hill Interchange and will be temporarily closed.

The closure set to take place between Thursday May 7 and Friday May 8 will be due to high maintenance works on the road section.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) notifies the public that a section of Uhuru Highway (A8 Road) between Museum Hill Interchange and Westlands Roundabout will be temporarily on Thursday, May 7, 2026 and Friday, May 8, 2026 between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am”, the notice read.

All motorists using the Uhuru Highway and Chiromo road have been advised to use Nyerere Road, Arboretum Drive, Westlands Ring Road and the Nairobi Expressway.

Additionally, motorists intending to use Uhuru Highway have been advised to use Parklands Ring Road, Kipande Road, Limuru Road, University Way and the Nairobi Express Way.

The authority has further advised motorists to follow the traffic management plan till normal traffic operations resume.

“Motorists are advised to follow the proposed traffic management plan as well as cooperate with the police and traffic marshalls on site. Normal traffic on the road will be restored upon completion of the work”, the notice added.
