ODM Party Leader Oburu Odinga on Friday, May 8, assured Kenyans that he was safe and well following growing concerns about his whereabouts.
Oburu appeared in a video recorded at the Nyanza Golf Club, where he explained that he had been occupied with personal engagements while also enjoying a game of golf.
The ODM figure also shared photos of himself at the golf course accompanied by the caption “up and grateful,” signalling that he remained active and in good health.

In the video, Oburu thanked Kenyans for their concern and said he was in Kisumu enjoying his time while wishing the public a pleasant weekend.
Meanwhile, ODM Director of Communication Philip Etale acknowledged that local media outlets had been mounting pressure on him to address questions surrounding Oburu’s sudden absence from the public eye.
Etale maintained that Oburu Odinga was in good health, adding that the concern surrounding his absence reflected his significance within the ODM party and the country at large.
He further confirmed that the Siaya Senator was expected to resume public engagements on Saturday, May 9, during an event at the former school of the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
Oburu had remained out of the public spotlight for nearly two weeks and missed several key ODM functions, including a high-level party meeting held in Mombasa.
Despite his absence, the ODM leader sent a letter to party members attending the Mombasa meeting, apologising for failing to attend while assuring them of his support.
In the letter, the Siaya Senator reportedly urged ODM leaders to address internal disputes and avoid publicly endorsing positions in a future government before formal discussions with the UDA party were concluded.
