A section of the Nairobi southern bypass will be temporarily closed on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

In a statement by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), the authority said the closure will be effected to allow for the 2026 edition of the Nairobi Marathon.

According to the statement by KeNHA, the closure will affect the stretch between the Ole Sereni Interchange and the Lang’ata Road Interchange on Sunday from 6am to 1pm.

The move will be aimed to facilitate smooth running of the annual marathon event, which is usually hosted in Nairobi.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to inform the public that the Nairobi Southern bypass between Ole Sereni Interchange and Lang’ata Road Interchange will be temporarily closed on Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 6am to 1pm,” the statement from KeNHA read.
