EPRA Increases Pump Prices for Super Petrol and Diesel

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has increased the prices of petrol and diesel in the April to May 2026 review.

In the latest fuel review released on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, EPRA revealed that the petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol and Diesel have been increased by Ksh 28.69 per litre and Ksh 40.30 per litre, respectively.

However, the price of Kerosene remains unchanged.

Following the revision, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will now retail at Ksh206.97, Ksh206.84 and Ksh152.78, respectively, effective today and for the next 30 days.

According to EPRA, the Value Added Tax (VAT) rate on Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene has been reduced from 16 per cent to 13 per ctor to cushion consumers from the high landed cost of petroleum products as a result of the escalated prices in the international market.

The regulator clarified that the Super Petrol delivered by One Petroleum through the MT Paloma has not been included in the computation of the new fuel prices.

In it’s review EPRA also announced that the verage landed cost of imported Super Petrol increased by 41.53 per cent from Ksh75,266.82 per cubic metre in December last year to Ksh106,526.39 in January 2026.

The landed cost of Diesel increased by Ksh68.72 per cent from Ksh82,292.99 per cubic metre to Ksh138,764.76 per cubic metre while Kerosene increased by 105.15 per cent from Ksh82,684.76 per cubic metre to Ksh169,632.55 per cubic metre over the same period.

According to reports, the latest increase is likely to affect the country’s economy, with transport costs expected to rise and, consequently, the prices of goods and services which are already in motion.
