Police Destroy 2,000 Litres of Illicit Brew in Nairobi Crackdown

The National Police Service (NPS) has recently confirmed the destruction of approximately 2,000 litres of illicit brew following a targeted operation in Soweto, Nairobi.

In a statement, the police noted that the crackdown was part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal brewing and narcotic drug activities, which continue to pose serious social, economic, and public health risks within communities.

During the operation, officers confiscated and destroyed large quantities of kangara, a locally brewed illicit alcohol, along with equipment used in its production.

Authorities noted that dismantling such setups is key to disrupting illegal supply chains and deterring those involved in the trade.

The police emphasized that the operation reflects a broader commitment to protecting community well-being through sustained enforcement and preventive measures.

The National Police Service further indicated that similar crackdowns will continue across affected areas to strengthen the fight against drug and substance abuse and ensure long-term impact.
