Radio personality Kamene Goro has recounted on her recent battle with a near-fatal illness.
In a post on her Instagram account, the media personality explained her absence from social media and public appearances.
According to Kamene, she had been sick since November 2025 but was not aware of the severity of her condition.
She revealed that her illness worsened in early 2026, to an extent she almost died.
“In January, I almost died,” she said.
“I had sepsis and peritonitis in my abdomen. They removed 5 litres of pus from my abdomen,” she added.

According to reports, peritonitis is inflammation in the thin layer of tissue inside the abdomen, known as the peritoneum.
The radio present said she experienced further complications that made her condition even more serious.
Her kidneys were affected by the infection, and she required dialysis as well as she developed pneumonia, and one of her lungs collapsed.
According to Kamene, she spent time in both the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU) while receiving treatment.
However, even after ongoing recovery, the cause of her illness is still unclear.
The media personality thanked the doctors, nurses and everyone who supported her during the difficult time.
She revealed that their care and encouragement helped her through the worst moments.
Kamene further said that she celebrates her recovery and is taking the opportunity to start the year anew. Kamene also encouraged others experiencing serious health problems or going through recovery to stay strong and seek help when needed.
