David Keter Triumphs in Emurua Dikirr UDA Race After Previous Defeats

Businessman David Kipsang Keter has succeeded the late Member of Parliament (MP) Johanna Ng’eno in Emurua Dikirr, running on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket.

Keter won after a nomination process in 96 polling stations on Friday, March 27, 2026.

He was declared the winner after he garnered 13,759 votes which put him in the leading seat for the vacant post.

Keter managed to defeat Kipkoech Ng’eno, the former MP’s personal assistant, who scored 13,394 votes in the elections.

With his win, Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kipchumba Murkomen congratulated Keter on the milestone.

“Hearty congratulations to David Keter on winning the hotly contested UDA nomination for Emurua Dikirr Constituency. Your patience, persistence, and resilience have finally paid off,” Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen stated.

“To Bernard Ng’eno, who came a close second, well done for putting up a spirited fight. You have demonstrated great strength and sportsmanship, and you undoubtedly have a bright future ahead”, he added.

This follows the death of the late MP Johana Ng’eno and five others who died in a plane crash.

According to reports, the plane had an emergency landing, before deciding to take off again, where it crashed and burst into flames.
