The Mombasa County government has announced a major water supply disruption after a link in one of its key pipeline.
In a notice, the Mombasa Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited, revealed the water disruption was caused by a telecommunications technology company, that has affected one of the key transmission pipelines along the Nyali bridge during its operations.
The company therefore assured that it has deployed its technical team, who are working to restore the normal supply of water on the island.
“We would like to inform our esteemed customers in the Mombasa Island region that our scheduled water supply will be interrupted due to a serious leakage along our transmission pipeline at Nyali bridge,” the regulator’s statement read.
“This was caused by the damage to the pipeline section by a telecommunications technology company. Our technical team is working around the clock to repair the said section and restore services to the affected areas,” it added.
However, the company did not state when the water supply is expected to be restored.
At the same time, the Mombasa water company has announced water supply disruption in Magongo, Wayani, National Housing, Chaani, Kenya Pipeline Company, Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited, KenGen and Changamwe.
The company has revealed that the water disruption is due to a temporary closure of the main transmission pipelines in the mentioned areas.
