Britam Holdings PLC Group Board Chairman Kuria Muchiru has died after a short illness.
The news of his passing was confirmed by the company in a statement on Thursday, March 13, 2026.
“The Board of Directors and Management of Britam Holdings PLC is saddnounce the passing away of our Group Board Chairman, Mr Kuria Muchiru, who passed away today, 19th March 2026, after a short illness,” the statement read.
“On behalf of the entire Britam family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with him. May God rest his soul in eternal peace,” the statement added.
According to reports, Muchiri joined Britam Holdings Plc, a leading diversified financial services group headquartered in Nairobi and listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, in August 2021 as a Non-Executive Director before being appointed Board Chairman in December of the same year.
During his tenure, he provided steady and visionary leadership at a pivotal time for the company, overseeing operations across seven African countries and supporting the delivery of services, including life, health, and general insurance, retirement planning, asset management, and property investment.
