KeNHA Issues Advisory After Blockage on Mai Mahiu–Suswa–Narok Highway

The Kenya National Highways Authority ( KeNHA) has issued advisory to motorists travelling along the Mai Mahiu-Suswa-Narok highway following a major disruption caused by flooding.

In a notice dated March 19, 2026, KeNHA announced that the affected section near Kedong Ranch, close to Suswa, had become impassable due to heavy rains.

According to the authority, the floodwaters and accumulated silt have significantly impacted traffic flow along the highway.

“KeNHA wishes to notify motorists that this evening, the Mai Mahiu-Suswa-Narok (B7) Road experienced flooding and silt deposition at Kedong Ranch near Suswa,” the statement read.

Motorists have also been cautioned against attempting to drive through flooded sections, with KeNHA warning that doing so could result in vehicles being swept away.

“The Authority is currently working to reopen the section of the road that was affected. Motorists are advised to avoid driving through flooded areas,” the statement added.

Drivers have therefore been urged to follow directions from police officers and traffic marshals deployed in the area to manage the situation and enhance safety.

According to KeNHA, the continued rainfall in the region worsened road conditions, particularly between Naivasha ICD and Suswa Ranch.
