In a statement issued on Wednesday, March 18, PS Omollo commended the officers for their professionalism and bravery, noting that they operated under challenging and high-risk conditions while representing Kenya internationally and supporting security efforts alongside the Haitian National Police.
The PS also honoured three officers who lost their lives during the mission, describing them as gallant heroes.
He assured the families of the deceased officers of continued government support.
According to Omollo, the Kenyan-led mission in Haiti played a key role in stabilizing critical areas and supporting the Haitian National Police in restoring public order.
He noted that the officers contributed to the protection of civilians, the safeguarding of vital infrastructure, and the strengthening of security responses in communities facing significant challenges.
Omollo also reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to continued collaboration with Haiti and international partners to consolidate the gains achieved and support long-term peace and stability efforts.
The first contingent of 230 police officers had earlier returned to Kenya on Tuesday, December 9, 2026.
Kenya deployed more than 800 officers to Haiti under the Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission aimed at restoring peace and stability in the Caribbean nation.
