Murkomen emphasized the importance of building on these existing collaborations to enhance both nations’ capacity in technology and security matters.
Murkomen further stated that the meeting addressed global peace initiatives and the situation in the Middle East.
He noted that Kenya reaffirmed its commitment to multilateral approaches in resolving international disputes and reducing regional tensions.
The discussions emphasized Kenya’s support for international frameworks and institutions aimed at de-escalating conflicts and promoting stability in the Middle East.
This follows a notice issued by the Russian Embassy in Kenya to its citizens regarding airspace closures over parts of the Middle East.
In a statement released on Monday, March 2, the embassy highlighted travel disruptions caused by the situation and provided guidance for affected travellers.
The advisory pointed to closures over countries including the UAE and Qatar and recommended that Russian nationals experiencing difficulties register with consular services and formally report their circumstances.
The embassy also advised travellers to coordinate directly with their tour operators and airlines to explore options for rebooking or refunds.
Affected passengers were encouraged to contact the airline operating their flight or the agency that issued their ticket to clarify possibilities for rescheduling or compensation.
Additionally, the advisory suggested considering alternative transit routes where flights are still operating to ensure timely travel.
