Eric Omondi Launches Nairobi–Busia Solidarity Walk

Comedian and philanthropist Eric Omondi has embarked on another walk from Nairobi to Busia.

The long distance walk was launched on Monday, March 2, 2026, where the activist was joined by a huge crowd and a few celebrities.

During the launch, the comedian was joined by Ferdinand Omanyala and Mugithi maestro Samuel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, as he made his way across the city.

Erick Omondi announced the five-day charity walk following the success of a similar initiative that saw him walk from Nairobi to Mombasa.

During the walk, he covered a distance of 486 kilometres with the aim to raise funds for his Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre.

In a post on his social media account on Monday, February 23, 2026, the philanthropist revealed that the walk would be from Nairobi to the Busia border.

“Hey guys, I will be walking to the Busia border from Nairobi for 5 days from next week, Monday the 2nd to Friday. Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre will provide free health care and education to Kenyans,” Omondi write.

I walked to Mombasa and raised funds to begin this project. I will keep walking until the SISI KWA SISI help and rescue centre is complete”, he added.

He further revealed that the funding will see a development in his rescue centre which will include a safe house, two ambulances, a hospital and a free secondary school.
