President William Ruto has strongly condemned strikes by Iran targeting several Middle East nations, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar.
In a statement on Monday, March 2, he cautioned that the regionalization of the conflict poses a serious threat to international peace and security.
Ruto’s remarks came amid reports of strikes affecting Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain.

He stressed that multilateral institutions remain crucial in resolving the ongoing crisis and called for diplomatic measures to prevent further escalation in the region.
Ruto went on to call for urgent multi-stakeholder engagement to de-escalate the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
He emphasized that, at this critical juncture, longstanding multilateral institutions remain essential for resolving the conflict.
Kenya is urging diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
“Kenya strongly condemns the strikes on the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain in the evolving conflict in the Middle East. It is evident that the regionalisation of this conflict poses a grave threat to international peace and security. At this defining and perilous moment in global history, longstanding multilateral institutions remain indispensable frameworks for the resolution of the current crisis in the Middle East. Kenya calls for urgent multi-stakeholder engagement towards de-escalation,’’President Ruto noted.
Ruto’s statement follows coordinated military action by the United States and Israel against Iran, during which Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was reportedly killed.
In retaliation, Iran launched strikes against neighboring countries, including the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait.
