Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has been removed from the ODM Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
Speaking on Wednesday, February 11, Amisi confirmed that he had received an official letter from the NEC informing him of the decision.
The MP said he was dropped from the committee over claims that he was holding two party positions illegally.

According to Amisi, the party cited his role as a county chair alongside his position as deputy organising secretary as the basis for his removal.
The ODM lawmaker further claimed that his removal from the party’s National Executive Committee was not carried out in accordance with established procedures.
Amisi argued that the NEC should have convened and reached a unanimous decision before any member could be removed, noting that he was not given an opportunity to respond to the allegations or defend himself.
He also maintained that he had been appointed to the position of ODM Deputy Organising Secretary at the request of the late Raila Odinga.
The Saboti MP insisted that if holding more than one party role was indeed unlawful, then the party itself should bear responsibility for having assigned him the additional position.
ODM is holding a NEC meeting on Wednesday to address growing internal divisions within the party.
The meeting will be followed by consultations with delegates from the Coast region.
The party is facing a widening rift between the Linda Ground and Linda Wananchi factions, driven by disputes over leadership, funding, and ODM’s direction after Raila’s death.
Tensions escalated after Edwin Sifuna criticised party operations, prompting Oburu Oginga to dismiss the remarks as personal opinion rather than official policy.
