Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi is set to visit Russia in March.
In a statement on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, Mudavadi noted that the visit is aimed at engaging directly with Russian authorities.
“We have seen loss of lives, and I am planning to make a visit to Moscow so that we can emphasise that this situation must be arrested,” Mudavadi stated.
He added that Kenya plans to pursue formal bilateral labour agreements to safeguard citizens pursuing jobs overseas.
This comes at a time when there are growing concerns after the Ukrainian government discovered the bodies of two Kenyans who were recruited to fight for Russia in the ongoing war.
Reports indicate that 27 Kenyans who had been unlawfully enlisted into the Russian army have been repatriated.
According to reports, they were compelled to assemble drones and work with hazardous chemicals without adequate training or protective gear.
