The 2027 presidential hopeful said the funds will be used to launch the Ukatiba Caravan, a nationwide civic education initiative aimed at boosting voter registration, particularly among young people.
In July 2025, Maraga indicated that he would rely on contributions from Kenyans to finance his 2027 presidential campaign, expressing confidence that public support would sustain the effort.
He also revealed plans to personally contribute between Ksh1 million and Ksh2 million to the campaign kitty, while noting that many Kenyans would contribute smaller amounts, starting from as low as Ksh50.
These funds are expected to support various campaign activities, including the rollout of the civic education campaign.
