A 28-year-old man has passed away after being attacked by a crocodile at Awana Beach in Karachuonyo Constituency, Homa Bay County.
The incident happened on Monday, January 27, 2026, in the evening.
According to reports, the deceased was bathing with friends at the lake shore around 3pm when the attack occurred.
Further reports indicate that he was dragged into the water by the crocodile, despite frantic efforts by friends and local fishermen to save him.
With the help of residents and fisherment, the body was eventually retrieved on Tuesday, January 27, and transferred to a nearby mortuary.
