A fire erupted late Thursday night at Hamza along Jogoo Road, near the Mogas petrol station, damaging a furniture shop and several neighboring businesses.
The blaze, which broke out at around 9:00 pm, was later brought under control, with authorities confirming that no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established.

Witnesses said the fire started close to the petrol station after most shops had closed, enabling the flames to spread rapidly to nearby premises before help arrived.
Videos circulating on social media showed large crowds gathering as the fire intensified, with some traders rushing to salvage property while others looked on from a safe distance.
Firefighters from the Nairobi County disaster management department later responded and successfully contained the blaze.
However, by the time the fire was brought under control, a significant amount of property had already been destroyed, leaving affected traders counting heavy losses.
The incident comes just days after Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) reported a fire involving one of its wind turbines at the Ngong Wind Power Facility.
In an update issued on Wednesday, January 21, KenGen said the isolated incident occurred at around 3:00 pm on January 20, 2026, and affected a single turbine.
The power producer explained that the fire broke out during routine scheduled maintenance, noting that no injuries were reported and all personnel at the site were safely accounted for.
