The organisation confirmed that the fire, which broke out at a building near Quickmart Bandari, was brought under control through the joint efforts of the Mombasa County Fire Brigade, the Kenya Red Cross, and other emergency responders.
Initial assessments showed that two rooms were completely destroyed, while other parts of the building suffered partial damage.
Preliminary information indicates the victim was a woman who sustained injuries at her residence.
There are also unverified reports suggesting the fire may have been caused by arson linked to a civil dispute.
