The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has approved the resumption of continuous voter registration in several constituencies.
In a gazette notice issued by IEBC Chairperson Erastus Ethekon on Friday, January 9, the commission announced that voter registration, which had been suspended in 27 constituencies, will resume on Monday, January 12.
The registration exercise had been halted to allow for by-elections conducted on November 27, 2025.

The by-elections took place in 17 wards across 14 counties, six constituencies, and in Baringo County, where a senatorial mini-poll was held.
The 27 electoral areas where continuous voter registration will resume include Magarini, Galole, Fafi, Banissa, Machakos Town, Turkana North, Turkana West, Samburu North, Moiben, Keiyo South, Chesumei, Tiaty, Baringo North, Baringo Central and Baringo South constituencies.
Others are Mogotio, Eldama Ravine, Narok North, Kajiado Central, Khwisero, Kabuchai, Ugunja, Kasipul, West Mugirango, North Mugirango, Borabu and Embakasi North constituencies.
During the exercise, eligible residents can visit constituency offices to register as new voters, transfer their registration, update personal details, or verify their status.
The centres will operate from Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.
