Narok Senator Flags Concern Over Sifuna’s Criticism of ODM Leaders

Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has urged his Nairobi counterpart, Senator Edwin Sifuna, to refrain from targeting fellow ODM officials.

Sifuna, who serves as the party’s secretary general, has recently been critical of ODM members perceived to be aligned with President William Ruto’s regime.

The latest target of his remarks was Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, leader of the minority in the National Assembly.

Speaking in response to Sifuna’s comments, Olekina warned that attempts to sow division within the party would not be tolerated.

He advised the Nairobi senator to consider leaving the ODM party voluntarily, warning that failure to do so could result in him being expelled.

Ledama stressed that continued provocations and internal conflicts would no longer be tolerated.

Sifuna’s troubles in ODM come amid efforts by Rigathi Gachagua to persuade him to join the United Opposition.

Sifuna, who opposes any alliance between ODM and President Ruto, has been urged to consider switching to Gachagua’s Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) or the Wiper Party to preserve his political influence and defend his senatorial seat, as senior ODM figures increasingly align with Ruto.
