Former Shinyalu Member of Parliament Dies

Former Shinyalu Member of Parliament Daniel Khamasi has died.

Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa confirmed Khamasi’s passing on Tuesday, December 30, describing him as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to Shinyalu will be remembered.

The governor also extended condolences to Khamasi’s family, friends, and the residents of Shinyalu, mourning the loss of the former lawmaker.

Daniel Khamasi served as Shinyalu MP for two terms from 1997 to 2007, initially elected on a Ford Kenya ticket before joining Narc Kenya in 2002. 

He lost his seat in the 2007 general election to Charles Lugano of the ODM party.

Khamasi’s death comes just days after the passing of former Likuyani MP Enoch Kibunguchy Wamalwa, who had been battling illness. 

His death was confirmed on Tuesday, December 23, by Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera, who described Kibunguchy as a mentor and colleague with whom he shared many reflective moments.
