Sonko Breaks Silence on Reports of Mercedes G-Wagon Accident

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has denied social media reports suggesting that his Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon was involved in an accident.

In a statement on Friday, December 19, Sonko described the claims as false propaganda and assured the public that he is safe and in good health.

The National Economic Development Party of Kenya (NEDP) leader emphasized that no such incident occurred and dismissed the circulating information as unfounded.

The former Nairobi boss has urged Kenyans to disregard misinformation circulating online and to rely only on verified information.

He also expressed appreciation to members of the public who reached out following the false claims.

The reports surfaced shortly after Sonko showcased his collection of high-end vehicles, which he frequently displays on social media.

His fleet includes three Mercedes-Benz G-Wagons, two Cadillac Escalades, a Lexus LX570, a Nissan Patrol, a Toyota Land Cruiser, and a Range Rover Autobiography.

On December 9, Sonko launched the National Economic Development Party (NEDP), marking his latest effort to re-enter active politics.

The party’s registration with the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties completes a process that began in 2019 and included document submissions in 2020.

Sonko announced that Dr. Nyamu, a gynecologist who previously served as director of Pumwani Maternity Hospital during his governorship, will serve as the interim party chairman and leader.
