Her Majesty Queen Mary of Denmark has arrived in Kenya for a three-day state visit.
She landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on the night of Tuesday, December 9, where she was received by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.
According to a statement from the State Department of Foreign Affairs, Queen Mary is scheduled to visit coastal conservation projects focused on protecting endangered species.

She will also tour landfill and waste management initiatives in Nairobi that promote the circular economy and strengthen urban environmental resilience.
In addition, the Queen is expected to participate in the ongoing United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) meeting at the United Nations Office in Nairobi.
The State Department for Foreign Affairs said Queen Maryโs visit provides an important platform to deepen cooperation between Kenya and Denmark in renewable energy, climate action, and environmental protection.
The department added that the visit offers an opportunity to explore new partnership areas and innovative approaches that support people-centred and sustainable development initiatives in both countries.
