Kenya has deployed 230 additional police officers to Haiti’s Gang Suppression Force (GSF), reinforcing international efforts to restore order in the country.
The specialized officers arrived at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince on Monday, December 8, accompanied by Senior Assistant Inspector General (SAIG) James Kamau and Deputy National Security Advisor Joseph Boinett.
They were received by the President of Haiti’s Transitional Presidential Council, Laurent Saint-Cyr, GSF Commander Godfrey Otunge, and other senior Haitian officials upon arrival.

GSF said the additional Kenyan officers strengthen President William Ruto’s pledge to support Haiti’s transition process.
The newly deployed, highly trained officers will work closely with Haitian security agencies to restore stability, while 100 Kenyan troops have returned home after completing their MSS mission.
Saint-Cyr praised their service, as Joseph Boinett reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to peace and continued cooperation in Haiti.
The deployment follows President Ruto’s pledge that Kenya would not abandon Haiti.
The UN Security Council approved the GSF to replace the MSS mission, mandating a 5,550-strong force to work with Haitian security agencies to combat gangs and secure critical infrastructure.
