DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua has accused several media outlets of deliberately misreporting his address on Sunday.
During the celebration and unveiling of newly elected Members of County Assembly (MCAs) on Wednesday, December 3, Gachagua singled out Citizen TV reporter Stephen Letoo, claiming the journalist published biased and inaccurate information.
The former DP specifically referenced coverage of his speech at a thanksgiving ceremony for the newly elected MCA of Kariobangi North on November 30, asserting that the media report misrepresented the events that occurred during the church service.

Gachagua clarified that his remarks on Sunday, November 30, in which he reportedly claimed that his party, DCP, would win all major seats in Nairobi, including 16 of 17 parliamentary seats and up to 90 percent of MCA positions, were misrepresented by the media.
He insisted that his statements were distorted in news reports.
Gachagua went on to criticize certain media outlets for misrepresenting his statements, clarifying that his reference to Nairobi’s top seats was about the United Opposition coalition, of which DCP is a member.
He called on the media to report accurately and avoid twisting narratives, which he argued were being used to spread falsehoods favoring President William Ruto.
The former DP also rejected claims that DCP’s Nairobi candidates would all come from the Kikuyu community, emphasizing that the group is as representative of Kenya as any other and deserves fair participation.
Amid speculation about potential divisions, Gachagua reaffirmed the unity of the United Opposition, describing it as strong and indivisible.
He stressed that a robust opposition depends on a strong political party and pledged to continue strengthening DCP in Nairobi and across the country.
