Chaos broke out in Narok town on Monday, November 24, after police officers lobbed teargas at Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua while he was addressing supporters.
Earlier in the day, reports indicated that security officers had mounted a roadblock and deployed heavily along key entry routes in an attempt to prevent Gachagua from accessing the town.
Despite the blockade, he managed to slip through, wearing a protective helmet as he made his way to the rally.

Just minutes after he began speaking to a crowd that had gathered and was chanting anti-government slogans, police officers fired teargas canisters towards his convoy.
The sudden assault forced Gachagua, his team, and hundreds of residents to scatter as smoke engulfed the area, bringing the rally to an abrupt halt.
Gachagua intensified his final push ahead of the November 27 by-elections, leading a convoy into Narok to drum up support for MCA aspirant Douglas Masikonde.
Aware of the heightened police presence reported earlier in the day, he appeared prepared for possible confrontation, arriving on the campaign trail equipped with a black helmet for protection.
