President William Ruto has named Senate Speaker Amason Kingi’s brother, Michael Thoya Kingi, to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
The announcement was made in a Gazette Notice published November 14, 2025.
Thoya is expected to serve for a period of six years.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 230 (2) (b) (ii) of the Constitution as read with Article 250 (2) (b) of the Constitution and in accordance with the procedure set out in section 7 (13) of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission Act, 2011, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Michael Thoyah Kingi (Eng) to be a Member of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission for a period of six (6) years”, the notice read.
