The National Police Service (NPS) has announced that the recruitment of police constables will take place on November 17, 2025, following the lifting of court orders that had earlier halted the process.
Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja noted that the exercise will be conducted simultaneously across all sub-counties in the country.
In its statement, NPS outlined the eligibility criteria, noting that applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged between 18 and 28 years, possess a valid national ID, and have attained a minimum grade of D+ in KCSE, including at least a D+ in English or Kiswahili.

Additionally, candidates must be physically and medically fit, with men required to have a minimum height of 5 feet 8 inches and women 5 feet 3 inches.
Female applicants are also required not to be pregnant during the recruitment or training period.
At the same time, the NPS clarified that individuals with criminal records or pending court cases will not be eligible to apply.
However, National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet the set requirements are encouraged to submit their applications.
The Service also emphasized that the recruitment exercise is entirely free of charge and warned that anyone caught soliciting or offering bribes to influence the process will face prosecution.
