Telegram has been restricted as the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams begins.
In a statement on November 3, 2025, Netblocks noted the restriction on Telegram is to enable easier assessment period to prevent exam malpractices.
“Confirmed: Metrics show that messaging app Telegram has been restricted in Kenya as KCSE school exams are held,” the statement read.
“This follows an established pattern of internet censorship measures intended to limit cheating on exam days,” the statement added.
