Senator Sifuna Consoles Raila Viewing Victims’ Families

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has revealed that he has reached out to the families of victims who lost their lives during the viewing of Raila Odinga’s remains at Kasarani and Nyayo Stadiums.

In a statement, Sifuna noted that his office had already established contact with some of the affected families and pledged to offer them support during this difficult time.

The ODM Secretary General described the deaths as needless and tragic, noting that most of the victims reportedly died from gunshot wounds.

Sifuna added that his office was working to reach all affected families by the end of the day to ensure they receive the necessary assistance.

At least five people have died and several others were injured during the public viewing of Raila Odinga’s body at Kasarani and Nyayo stadiums.

In Kasarani, chaos erupted when thousands of mourners gathered to pay their last respects to the former Prime Minister.

Police reportedly opened fire and lobbed teargas canisters to disperse the crowd, resulting in the deaths of three people.

Two more mourners lost their lives on Friday, October 17, during Raila’s state funeral at Nyayo Stadium.
